A 71-29 rebounding edge and 31 second chance points on Saturday afternoon helped lift Lourdes to an 80-42 victory over Great Lakes Christian inside the Russell J. Ebeid Recreation Center in the Gray Wolves' final non-conference game of the season.

"This was a good team win today," head coach
John Kenger said afterwards. "Everyone was able to contribute in some way. Hopefully we can use this to build some momentum heading into the stretch run of conference play."

The Gray Wolves trailed 14-12 midway through the opening period before holding Great Lakes Christian scoreless the final 5:05 of the frame while going on a 17-0 run to open up a 29-14 advantage after 10 minutes. Lourdes would maintain the double figure lead the rest of the way.

With Lourdes leading 46-26 at the half, the Gray Wolves opened the third period scoring the first nine points and limited the Crusaders to just four points in the quarter. The Gray Wolves continued to extend their lead throughout the final period.

Baylee Baldwin (Ottawa Lake, Mich./Whiteford H.S.) led Lourdes with 13 points while
Hunter Kershaw (Columbus, Ohio/Westland H.S.) and
Mary Liedel (Erie, Mich./Mason H.S.) added 12 points each.Â
Erica Cary (Central City, Ky./Muhlenberg County H.S.) chipped in 11 more for the Gray Wolves as Lourdes shot just 37.2% from the floor but made 17-of-21 (81%) from the free throw line.

Lourdes had seven players with seven or more rebounds, led by Cary and
Sirena Pitts (Orlando, Fla./Ocoee H.S.) who had nine each.Â
Sara Semler (Toledo, Ohio/Whitmer H.S.) added nine points, seven boards, and a game-high seven assists.

Kerlanda Dervil led Great Lakes Christian (2-17) with 18 points and five steals as the Crusaders connected at just a 27.3% clip for the day.

Lourdes (9-17) will return to Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference play on Wednesday evening, as the Gray Wolves travel to Grand Rapids, Mich. to face Cornerstone. Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m. inside of Mol Arena.
