Lourdes opened its 2021 competitive cheer season on Sunday evening, winning a pair of dual meets against Point Park in an event that was held virtually.
Â
Both schools competed in their own home gyms, with the judges also at home, and streamed their competition routines for the virtual meet.
Â
Lourdes downed the Pioneers 85.8-75.95 in the first competition before winning the second meet 83.6-72.85.
Â
"This was a really strong start to the season," head coach
Chelsea Leis said afterwards. "We only had a few minor issues with building skills hitting both routines. I am proud of how we competed, especially for our first virtual competition."
Â
The Gray Wolves have just 0.25 points worth of deductions in each routine.
Â
"We will look to continue to clean things up for the big OCU Invite."
Â
Lourdes will return to action on February 12, competing in the Oklahoma City Virtual Invitational. The Gray Wolves are tentatively scheduled to compete around 8:20 p.m. and 11:10 p.m. EST.
