Lourdes continued its homestand on Friday evening dropping a 25-11, 25-20, 25-18 decision to Madonna inside the Russell J. Ebeid Recreation Center.

The Gray Wolves were held to .058 hitting on the evening while Madonna put down 44 kills and swung at a .286 clip.

In the opening set, Lourdes managed just three kills and hit -.154. The Crusaders went on a 10-0 run to pull in front 19-5 on the way to the early lead. In set two, Lourdes led 16-14 before Madonna rallied with a 6-1 run to jump in front for good. The Crusaders tallied 16 kills in the stanza. Set three was tied at 12 before Madonna scored the next nine points to secure the victory.

Kylee McBride (Peoria, Ariz./Mountain Ridge H.S.) led Lourdes with seven kills and 12 digs while
Alli Plasencio (Toledo, Ohio/Central Catholic H.S.) notched 18 digs defensively.

Molly Miller hit .458 with a match-high 14 kills to pace Madonna (18-5, 10-2 WHAC) while Olivia Sweeney had a match-high 20 digs.

"We did not play well tonight," head coach
Greg Reitz said afterwards. "We need to regroup with a better performance tomorrow."

Lourdes (8-12, 4-7) returns to the Ebeid Recreation Center on Saturday afternoon, hosting Michigan-Dearborn. First serve is set for 1 p.m.
