Final Results (PDF)

Lourdes had seven wrestlers win at least one match on Saturday afternoon as the Gray Wolves place sixth at the Baldwin Wallace Invitational held at the Lou Higgins Center Fieldhouse in Berea, Ohio.

The Gray Wolves tallied 69 total points as a team, just four fewer than fifth place Defiance.  The host Yellow Jackets won the tournament with 493.5 points, easily outdistancing runner-up Delaware Valley which finished with 166.5 points.

"The was a quality effort on the part of our wrestlers today," head coach Dock Kelly III said afterwards.  The competition was tough, but they were able to raise their intensity level and come away with several quality wins and tons of valuable experience.  I am proud of the way that they represented the Lourdes University wrestling program."

Noah Eikenbary (Kenton, Ohio/Kenton H.S.) led the way for the Gray Wolves, placing fourth in the 285-pound weight class.  He picked up four victories on the day.  He began with a fall just 24 seconds into the second period against his opponent from Thiel before dropping a quarterfinal contest.  Eikenbary then began to battle in the consolation draw, registering another fall against a Thiel grappler with just two seconds remaining in the opening period.  He followed that win with an 8-1 decision against Baldwin Wallace before scoring a 9-6 victory over Delaware Valley in the consolation semifinals.  Eikenbary's run came to an end in the third place match, dropping a 2-1 decision.
