Lawrence Tech made 17 three-point field goals on Wednesday evening on the way to defeating Lourdes 81-75 inside of Ridler Fieldhouse in Southfield, Mich.
The Blue Devils finished 17-of-40 (42.5%) from long range to offset 55.2% shooting overall from the Gray Wolves. Lourdes made just 5-of-13 (38.5%) shots from beyond the arc.
"We gave up too many open shots," head coach

Lourdes took the lead in the first half, scoring 16 consecutive points in less than six minutes to build a 23-12 advantage with 8:25 to play before halftime. The hosts battled back though, pulling even before the halftime horn, and the two schools went into the locker room tied at 42.

Over the next five minute the Blue Devils went on a 15-3 run to pull in front 65-53. Lourdes was able to claw back to within five, 69-64, with five minutes to play before back-to-back triples pushed the lead back to double figures again. Trailing by 12 with a minute to play, the Gray Wolves scored the final six points to cut the deficit in half, but could not get any closer.
Five Lourdes players tallied double figures on the evening.
