Lourdes Notches Home Win Tuesday Against Miami-Hamilton

Lourdes improved to 5-2 at home inside the Russell J. Ebeid Recreation Center this season with a 76-44 victory over Miami-Hamilton on Tuesday evening in the Gray Wolves' final home game of the 2021 calendar year.
 
"It was nice to see the ladies respond early when asked to execute the game plan," head coach Tandy Bradford said afterwards.  "It was also great to have everyone back in action before the holidays."
 
The Gray Wolves held Miami-Hamilton to just 23% shooting from the floor, including 15.4% (4-of-26) from three-point range, and forced 20 turnovers in the victory.  Lourdes also outscored the Harriers 40-20 in the paint.
 
The visitors kept the game close throughout the opening quarter, scoring six straight points to even the contest at 11 before trailing by two after 10 minutes.  Lourdes broke the game open in the second, outscoring the Harriers 30-4.  The Gray Wolves began the quarter with a 13-0 run while also scoring the last 10 points of the half to take a 43-15 lead into the locker room.
 
The run extended into the third as Lourdes scored the first six point out of halftime to push the lead to 49-15 and never looked back.  The Gray Wolves led by as many as 42, 71-29, before Miami-Hamilton finished the game on a 15-5 run.
 
Mercedes Wagner (Sherwood, Ohio/Fairview H.S.) registered a double-double for the Gray Wolves, scoring 16 points while grabbing 10 rebounds.  Shae Pedroza (Napoleon, Ohio/Napoleon H.S.) added 15 points while Alex Wolfe (Toledo, Ohio/Notre Dame Academy) and Shallyn Miley (Bryan, Ohio/Bryan H.S.) tallied 12 points each.
 
Lourdes outrebounded the Harriers 59-34 for the game and dished out 20 assists.
 
Kiana Dauwe led Miami-Hamilton (4-12) with 15 points.
 
Lourdes (5-9) will have nine days off before returning to the hardwood, and Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference play on Thursday, Dec. 30 as the Gray Wolves travel to Rochester Hills, Mich.  Tip-off against Rochester (Mich.) is set for 3 p.m. inside of Garth Pleasant Arena.
