Lourdes jumped out to an 11-point lead after one quarter, but Concordia (Mich.) rallied with a big second on the way to defeating the Gray Wolves 75-62 on Tuesday evening inside of Cardinal Fieldhouse in Ann Arbor, Mich. in the regular season finale for both schools.
The Gray Wolves raced out to a 14-2 lead less than six minutes into the game and led 19-3 at the 4:31 mark of the opening period. An 8-0 run by the Cardinals pulled Concordia within eight late in the first before Lourdes held a 24-13 lead after 10 minutes.
Lourdes went just 2-of-14 from the floor in the second quarter, with Concordia opening the stanza on a 12-0 run to pull in front 25-24. After the Gray Wolves answered with a basket from
Erica Cary (Central City, Ky./Muhlenberg County H.S.), the Cardinals finished the period on another 9-2 spurt to take a 34-28 lead into the locker room.
An 11-2 run by the Gray Wolves to open the third put Lourdes back in front 39-36 with 5:45 to play in the quarter, but again the Cardinals answered with a run of their own. Thirteen straight points by the hosts pushed the lead to double figures before Cary drained a three at the end of the period to make it 49-42.

Mary Liedel (Erie, Mich./Mason H.S.) pulled Lourdes to within five on the first possession of the final quarter before Concordia scored the next seven points to begin a 22-7 run that put the game away.
Liedel led Lourdes with 16 points and pulled down eight rebounds while
Sara Semler (Toledo, Ohio/Whitmer H.S.) added 12 points on 5-of-7 shooting and grabbed nine boards.
Tris'styn Williams paced Concordia (13-7, 7-4 WHAC) with 17 points while J'may Simmons added 15 more.
Lourdes (4-13, 3-10) will now await the release of the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference tournament pairings to be released by the league office to determine their postseason matchup.
