Competing with judges in the gym as opposed to virtually for the first time this season, Lourdes posted its season's best score on the way to an 88.62-66.32 victory over Siena Heights on Thursday evening inside the Russell J. Ebeid Recreation Center.
"It was great to compete in person for the first time," head coach
Chelsea Leis said afterwards. "It showed in our routine score as we had a lot of energy. I was proud of the team for hitting their building skills tonight."
The Gray Wolves had just 0.25 points worth of deductions on the evening and had a raw score as high as 90.5 from one of the three judges.
"We will continue to work on tumbling skills as we head into our weekend invitational," Leis concluded.
Lourdes will return to action on Friday evening, competing in the Oklahoma City Virtual Invitational. Action begins at 6 p.m. EST with the Gray Wolves competing at approximately 7:30 p.m. and 9 p.m. EST.
