Final Results
Lourdes concluded the 2021 NAIA Competitive Cheer National Championships in 11
th place on Saturday afternoon inside of Lee Lohman Arena in Davenport, Iowa.
The Gray Wolves, which were 10
th after the preliminary round, finished with a final score of 80.07, after the final round accounted for 75% of the team's total. Lourdes scored 80.0 in Saturday's final round after turning in a qualifying score of 80.27 on Friday night. Saturday's performance had 0.5 points worth of deductions.
"This team has been an absolute joy to coach this season," head coach
Chelsea Leis said afterwards. "They were the only all-girl team to make nationals which was a huge feat in itself. They left it all on the floor this past weekend and while I was disappointed in the inconsistency of the scoring, I was extremely proud of both performances."
Oklahoma City won the national championship with a score of 91.53 while host Saint Ambrose was runner-up with a total of 91.10. Lourdes finished just 0.45 points behind 10
th place Mobile (80.52), and easily outdistanced 12
th place Bethel (Kan.), which finished with a score of 67.90.
"We ended the season with our heads held high and are feeling blessed to have had yet another opportunity to represent Lourdes at the NAIA National Championships."
