Lourdes continued its season-opening road trip on Friday evening, suffering a 25-22, 25-22, 23-25, 25-17 setback to Michigan-Dearborn inside the UMD Fieldhouse in Dearborn, Mich.

"This was a rough night for us most of the match," head coach
Greg Reitz said afterwards. "We tried all of our setters to try to spark our offense but couldn't get it going."

The Gray Wolves hit just .134 on the evening, led by
Abby Gentile's (Blissfield, Mich./Blissfield H.S.) .263 hitting night and 15 kills.Â
Kortney Ellison (Millbury, Ohio/Lake H.S.) also hit .263 for Lourdes with seven kills.

Alli Plasencio (Toledo, Ohio/Central Catholic H.S.) had 25 digs to pace the defense.

Brooke Wetherill led Michigan-Dearborn (4-7, 2-1 WHAC) with 12 kills and hit .333 while Gina Giocomini added 11 kills and swung at a .364 clip. Kenzie Mertz registered 30 digs.

Lourdes (2-6, 0-3) will conclude its nine-match road trip on Saturday afternoon as the Gray Wolves head to Livonia, Mich. to face Madonna. First serve is set for 1 p.m. at the Alliance Catholic Credit Union Arena.
