Upcoming in Gray Wolves Volleyball: Lourdes concludes its four-match homestand with a pair of contests inside the Ebeid Rec Center.  The Gray Wolves host Siena Heights on Tuesday evening and 14th-ranked Saint Xavier on Friday night before taking to the road on Saturday for a night match at Goshen.

Head Coach Greg Reitz: In his 11th season both on the Lourdes bench, and overall coaching men's volleyball, Greg Reitz has a 195-71 (.733) record at the helm of the Gray Wolves.  He has earned six conference Coach of the Year honors during his first nine seasons at Lourdes, including the WHAC Coach of the Year in 2018.  He is the only head coach in program history.

Series Notes: Lourdes is 26-1 all-time against Siena Heights in a series that began Feb. 14, 2012.  The Gray Wolves have won five straight meetings against the Saints, including a pair of 3-1 decisions in 2021.  Lourdes is 5-0 against Siena Heights inside the Ebeid Rec Center.  The Gray Wolves are a perfect 18-0 all-time against Saint Xavier dating back to Jan. 20, 2012.  Lourdes won last season's meeting in five sets at home.  The Gray Wolves are 3-0 against the Cougars inside the Ebeid Rec Center.  Lourdes is 5-1 versus Goshen in a series that dates back to Jan. 22, 2019.  The Gray Wolves have won three straight meetings after posting a pair of sweeps last season.  Lourdes is 2-0 against the Maple Leafs in Goshen, Ind.

Wrapping Up Last Week: The Gray Wolves opened the home portion of the schedule on Friday (Jan. 28) with a 25-18, 25-17, 25-15 victory over Cornerstone.  Jeff Lam put down 16 kills and hit .452 while Guga Heidrich registered 10 digs.  Later that evening, Lourdes notched a 25-11, 25-9, 25-15 win over Rio Grande.  The Gray Wolves hit .510 as a team behind 12 kills and a .550 hitting mark from Lam.  Sawyer Schafer had 24 assists and a team-high four digs.

Scouting Siena Heights: The Saints enter the match following a 3-0 setback at Goshen on Saturday afternoon (Jan. 29).  Ramon Matos leads Siena Heights hitting .330 with 99 total kills while adding nine service aces.  Zak Tucker has handed out a team-leading 232 assists.  Defensively, Joudiel Poveymirow has paced the Saints with 74 digs through seven matches while Jakob Pickett has registered 25 blocks.

Scouting Saint Xavier: The Cougars enter the week having won three straight matches after downing Morningside, Ottawa (Kan.), and Clarke on Saturday (Jan. 29).  Saint Xavier plays at Trinity Christian on Wednesday before heading to Lourdes.  Shane Ooms leads the Cougars with 136 kills while Drew Ehlers is hitting .509.  Joe Lock has handed out 379 assists and recorded 28 aces.  Defensively, Kyle Spring her 83 digs while Jake McClain has 21 blocks.

Scouting Goshen: The Maple Leafs are coming off a 3-0 sweep of Siena Heights on Saturday (Jan. 29).  Lucas Sauder has 103 kills and is hitting .297 while Michael Wahl has 244 assists.  Alexander Rabadzhiev has eight aces.  On defense, Brayton Yoder has recorded 89 digs while Andy Bennett has 24 blocks.

Schedule Updated: The Gray Wolves' match against Lawrence Tech that was postponed on Jan. 22 due to COVID-19 protocols has been rescheduled for March 1 at 7 p.m. inside the Ebeid Rec Center.

Home Court Success: The Gray Wolves enter the week riding a 16-match home court win streak inside the Russell J. Ebeid Recreation Center.  All-time Lourdes is 49-6 on its home floor since the building opened in September of 2016, with the Gray Wolves' last setback coming Feb. 12, 2020, a five-set loss to Goshen.

Solid Offense: The Gray Wolves hit .510 as a team on Friday in the match against Rio Grande, the third best single match performance in program history.  In addition, Lourdes dialed up 15 service aces, the second most in a contest ever by a Gray Wolf team.

Lam Earns WHAC Attacker of the Week Honors: Jeff Lam was named the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Attaker of the Week after he tallied 16 kills against Cornerstone and added 12 more against Rio Grande on Friday.  The fifth-year senior hit .490 combined in the two matches while also adding seven service aces.

Collegiate Debuts: Max Baumann and Darius Passley-Bennett both made their collegiate debuts for the Gray Wolves against Cornerstone.  Passley-Bennett had played in collegiate matches prior though, but on the soccer field, not the volleyball court.

Nearing the School Record: Jeff Lam ranks second in program history with 1,061 career kills.  He is just 118 kills shy of the school record holder, Evan Gebert (2017-2020), who tallied 1,179 during his four years at Lourdes.

Lam Holds Aces Mark: Jeff Lam set the school record for career aces last season and continues to add to his total.  He enters the week with 133 career aces.  The fifth-year senior has 46 more than Evan Gebert (2017-2020), who ranks second on the Gray Wolves' all-time list.

This and That: Lourdes has posted winning records in all 10 previous seasons, recording at least 15 victories per year ... Harrison McBean has tallied nine blocks in nine sets this season ... the Gray Wolves are limiting opponents to -.010 hitting on the year.
