Lourdes opened the home portion of its schedule on Saturday afternoon, celebrating an 81-70 Homecoming victory over Adrian inside the Russell J. Ebeid Recreation Center.
 
Four Gray Wolves finished in double figures, led by Jackie Harris (Toledo, Ohio/Saint Francis de Sales H.S.), who scored 17 points.  Little Anderson (Toledo, Ohio/Cardinal Stritch H.S.) added 13 points while Joey Holifield (Toledo, Ohio/Cardinal Stritch H.S.) added 12 more.  Brett Lauf (Napoleon, Ohio/Napoleon H.S.) chipped in 11 points.
 
The Gray Wolves trailed the first six minutes until Lauf hit a three-pointer to give Lourdes an 8-7 lead, an advantage the team would not relinquish the rest of the afternoon.  An 11-2 run over three minutes allowed the Gray Wolves to extend the lead to 11, 27-16.  Adrian would cut the advantage to three late in the opening stanza before Lourdes answered with eight straight points in two minutes on the way to building a 41-29 lead at the break. 
 
Lourdes quickly pushed the lead to 22, 58-36, just over five minutes out of the locker room.  Adrian, which was playing the game as an exhibition, answered with 13 of the next 15 points to pull within 11 at the nine-minute mark.  The hosts would push the lead back to 19, 75-56, with under six minutes remaining before a 14-4 run allowed the Bulldogs to pull within single digits in the game's final minute.
 
Lourdes shot 50.8% from the floor but was just 5-of-20 (25%) from three-point range and committed 16 turnovers.
 
"We have things we need to work on," head coach Dennis Hopson said afterwards.  We committed too many turnovers, and they had 27 points off of them.  We also need to continue to build upon on our individual defense."
 
De'Ovion Price led Adrian with 18 points.
 
Lourdes (2-0) will open Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference play on Wednesday evening, traveling to Ann Arbor, Mich. to face Concordia (Mich.).  Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m. at Cardinal Fieldhouse.
