Lourdes set a school record for runs in a game on Thursday in the opener of a doubleheader against Grace Christian enroute to a 33-2 and 10-3 sweep of the Tigers at Mercy Field.

The 33 runs in the opener surpass the previous record of 27 runs set against Goshen during the 2021 season.

Trailing by a run before coming to the plate, Lourdes sent 11 batters to the dish in the opening inning, one of four innings in which the Gray Wolves batted around in the opener.Â
Josh Hare (Simcoe, Ont./Holy Trinity H.S.) and
Joey Oehlers (Lambertville, Mich./Bedford H.S.) both hit two-run home runs in the opening inning and Lourdes was off and running.

Lourdes scored five runs in the first, third, and fifth frames before having 21 hitters bat in the sixth inning as the Gray Wolves scored 15 times.

Brad Ammons (Holland, Ohio/Springfield H.S.) went 6-for-6 with four doubles and four runs batted in during the opener while
Harrison Jackson (Millbury, Ohio/Lake H.S.) had a four-hit game.Â
Gabe Scott (Curtis, Ohio/Genoa H.S.) drove in five runs from the lead-off spot in the order. Every starter had at least one hit as part of a 23-hit attack.

Avery Harper (Cardington, Ohio/Cardington-Lincoln H.S.) earned his first collegiate win (1-0) on the hill, tossing the first three innings.

In game two, Lourdes used a seven-run third inning to break the game open as the Gray Wolves won for the eighth time in their last nine games.

Zack Mon (Columbus, Ohio/Westland H.S.) had three RBI in game two while
Caleb Dugan (Lima, Ohio/Lima Senior H.S.),
Nick DiGennaro (Oakville, Ont./St. Ignatius of Loyola), and
Bryce Gargus (South Haven, Mich./South Haven H.S.) each had two hits in the nightcap as part of an 11-hit game.

Spencer Rader (Bowling Green, Ohio/Bowling Green H.S.) earned the win with four strikeouts in two innings of work on the mound.
