No. 10 Lourdes won the opening set from sixth-ranked Jamestown on Saturday afternoon, but the Jimmies rallied for a 20-25, 25-22, 25-17, 25-16 victory over the Gray Wolves in a neutral site match in Des Moines, Iowa.

"Once again we started the match well, but were unable to maintain that level against a very strong team," head coach
Greg Reitz said afterwards. "We need to refocus our efforts for our match tomorrow."

Eduardo Ayala (Curitiba, Brazil/Colegio Dom Bosco) had 15 kills and hit .278 to pace the Gray Wolves as Lourdes hit just .076 for the match. Defensively,
Jeff Lam (Richmond, B.C./Hugh McRoberts H.S.) recorded 11 digs and
Harrison McBean (Melbourne, Australia/Northern College of the Arts) registered four blocks.

Lourdes came out fast, putting down 14 kills while hitting .407 in the opening stanza, but cooled off from there. The Gray Wolves were held to .000 hitting in the third set and -.107 with 12 attack errors in the finale.

Tanner Woods paced Jamestown (13-3) with 15 kills. The Jimmies hit .224 on the afternoon, including .348 in the final set.

Lourdes (11-5) will play its third match in as many days on Sunday as the Gray Wolves travel to Davenport, Iowa to battle Saint Ambrose. First serve is set for 3 p.m. EST inside of Lee Lohman Arena.
