For the first time in 2022 Lourdes played a match that went longer than three sets, but in the end the Gray Wolves scored a 20-25, 25-20, 25-15, 25-22 victory over the University of Northwestern Ohio inside of Racer Gymnasium in Lima, Ohio.

"We had to battle tonight and fortunately we were able to figure some things out to get the win," head coach
Greg Reitz said afterwards. "We will need to work on a few things to prepare for our next match."

A 7-1 run in the opening set gave Lourdes an early 13-10 advantage. The Gray Wolves led 20-19 late in the stanza when the Racers scored the final six points of the frame to take the early lead in the match. Leading by one, 20-19, in the second set, Lourdes scored five of the final six points to even the contest.

In set three, Lourdes held a slim 17-15 advantage when
Katey Stakolich (Parma, Ohio/Normandy H.S.) served out the final eight points, including a pair of service aces, to give the Gray Wolves a 2-1 lead overall. The Gray Wolves then trailed 18-17 in the fourth before battling back to pull out the victory.

Kylee McBride (Peoria, Ariz./Mountain Ridge H.S.) led Lourdes with 11 kills and hit .308 while
McKenna Hall (Sylvania, Ohio/Northview H.S.) added eight kills and 12 digs. Stakolich handed out 14 assists and ended the match with four aces in addition to 12 digs defensively.

Alli Plasencio (Toledo, Ohio/Central Catholic H.S.) led the Gray Wolves with 16 digs while
Finley Coghlan (Centerville, Ohio/Centerville H.S.) also finished in double figures with 10 digs.

Elli Roetgerman led Northwestern Ohio (7-7, 0-2 WHAC) with 16 kills and hit .314 while Hannah Colquitt added 10 kills and swung at a .450 clip.

Lourdes (6-3, 2-0) continues its three-match road trip on Friday evening as the Gray Wolves travel to Grand Rapids, Mich. to battle Cornerstone. First serve is set for 7 p.m. inside of Mol Arena.
