Lourdes opened its three-match homestand on Wednesday evening inside the Russell J. Ebeid Recreation Center, falling in straight sets to undefeated Indiana Tech 25-20, 25-17, 25-22.
The Warriors put down 54 kills to just 32 for Lourdes while hitting .290 on the evening.
Trailing 13-6 in the opening set, Lourdes went on a run, scoring six straight points to pull within one. Indiana Tech (17-0, 5-0 WHAC) responded with 10 of the next 14 points to take control and win the opening stanza. With Lourdes leading 5-4 in the second, the Warriors used an 18-5 spurt to build a 22-10 lead while building a 2-0 lead in the match. The third set was deadlocked at 16 when Indiana Tech scored the next four points to take the lead for good.
McKenna Hall (Sylvania, Ohio/Northview H.S.) had 10 kills to pace the Lourdes offense while
Alli Plasencio (Toledo, Ohio/Central Catholic H.S.) led the defense with 22 digs.
Noelle VanOort had a match-high 14 kills for Indiana Tech while Taylor Paul added 13 more and hit .500. Jacey Blust registered 20 digs.
Lourdes (6-6, 2-3) remains home on Friday evening as the Gray Wolves host Rochester (Mich.). First serve is set for 7 p.m. inside the Ebeid Rec Center.
