Final Results

For the first time this season Lourdes dropped a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference dual match, falling on the road against seventh-ranked Marian 33-3 on Sunday afternoon inside the Physical Education Building in Indianapolis, Ind.
 
We came out today in a hostile environment against a tough conference opponent and didn't execute on a high enough level to come away with a win," head coach Dock Kelly III said afterwards.  "We need to keep on working on the small things in order to win high-level matches like that."
 
Nick Rodriguez (Toledo, Ohio/Clay H.S.) started the match strong for the Gray Wolves, registering a 5-1 decision at 125 pounds to give Lourdes the early lead in the match.  That would be the Gray Wolves' lone win of the afternoon though.
 
The Gray Wolves hung close in most of the other matches.  Marian (7-7, 2-0 WHAC) won six of the bouts via decision, one by major decision, one by tech fall, and closed out the match with a pin.
 
"We will get back to work tomorrow to prepare for a tough and loaded Missouri Valley tournament," Kelly concluded.
 
Lourdes (6-6, 3-1) heads to Marshall, Mo. on Friday and Saturday for the Missouri Valley Open.  Action begins on Friday afternoon at 1 p.m. EST inside of the Burns Athletic Complex.
