Lourdes wrapped up action at the NAIA National Duals on Saturday defeating 19th-ranked Oklahoma City 27-18 before falling to ninth-ranked Campbellsville 31-13 inside the Kentucky Exposition Center in Louisville, Ky.

"It was great to get a victory while competing on the national stage this weekend," head coach Dock Kelly III said afterwards.  "Our guys battled hard and found a way to prevail through our adversity."

In the opener against Oklahoma City, Nick Rodriguez (Toledo, Ohio/Clay H.S.) started the Gray Wolves off with a forfeit victory at 125 pounds.  After the Stars won the next three bouts to build a 15-6 lead, Derick Coleman (Clyde, Ohio/Clyde H.S.) registered a 3-2 decision over the nation's 17th-ranked wrestler at 157 to stop the team's skid.

Lourdes then closed the match with four straight wins, including a pair of falls, to rally from behind to earn the victory.  Dominico Migliori (Curtis, Ohio/Clay H.S.) was an 8-5 victory at 174 before William Speight (Bedford, Ohio/Bedford H.S.) pinned his opponent at 184 in just 1:19.

Carter Kroll (Ontario, Ohio/Ontario H.S.) also earned a win over a ranked opponent, pinning the 21st-ranked 197-pounder in 2:27 to continue the Lourdes momentum.  Joe Dreisbach (White Lake, Mich./Walled Lake Northern H.S.) closed out the victory with a 5-0 shutout decision.

In the finale, Rodriguez started the match with a 17-3 major decision at 125 pounds while Tyler Hisey (St. Marys, Ohio/Memorial H.S.) followed with a 5-2 decision at 133 pounds.  Speight earned the only other victory of the match for the Gray Wolves, capping his perfect weekend with his third pin of the tournament at 184 pounds.

"This was a grueling weekend of competition, but it was just what we needed," Kelly added.  "Will Speight continued to dominate, and we are looking forward to him peaking just in time for the postseason.  We will get back to work on Monday, as we must be prepared for this critical juncture of the season that we are in."

Lourdes (5-5) returns to Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference competition on Thursday evening as the Gray Wolves travel to Adrian, Mich. to battle Siena Heights.  The opening bout is set for 7 p.m. inside the SHU Fieldhouse.
