Lourdes opened its weekend road trip to Grand Rapids, Mich. on Friday evening, dropping a 25-15, 25-17, 25-16 decision to Aquinas inside the Sturrus Sports & Fitness Center.
 
The Saints hit .382 as a team for the match, committing just eight attack errors all evening. 
 
Lourdes was within three, 15-12, in the opening set before Aquinas tallied seven straight points to seize control.  A 9-1 run in set two allowed the Saints to build a 2-0 advantage in the match before jumping out to a 6-2 lead in the third set on the way to completing the sweep.
 
Kylee McBride (Peoria, Ariz./Mountain Ridge H.S.) led Lourdes with eight kills while Arleena Willer (Perrysburg, Ohio/Toledo Christian H.S.) had eight digs.
 
Abbi Perkins led Aquinas (21-4, 10-1 WHAC) with 13 kills.
 
Lourdes (2-15, 2-10) travels across town to face Cornerstone on Saturday afternoon.  The first serve is slated for 2 p.m. inside of Mol Arena.
