Lourdes continued its homestand on Friday evening inside the Russell J. Ebeid Recreation Center, dropping a straight sets match to Madonna 25-18, 25-18, 25-18.
The Gray Wolves limited the Crusaders to just .165 hitting on the night but Lourdes managed to swing at just a .069 clip themselves and were outdug 52-41.
The opening set was tied at 12 when Madonna scored seven of the next nine points to pull away. The Gray Wolves were even with the Crusaders at 16 in the second stanza when the visitors went on an 8-1 run on the way to building a 2-0 lead in the match. In the third, Lourdes led 6-4 when Madonna tallied the next nine points on the way to completing the sweep.
Kylee McBride (Peoria, Ariz./Mountain Ridge H.S.) led Lourdes with seven kills while
McKenna Hall (Sylvania, Ohio/Northview H.S.) had nine digs.
Ella Lewis (Scotts, Mich./Portage Northern H.S.) was involved in five of the team's six blocks.
Sophia Mainhardt led Madonna (14-10, 9-5 WHAC) with nine kills and hit .350 while Kholee Stoll picked up 18 digs.
Lourdes (2-18, 2-13) closes out its homestand on Saturday evening entertaining Rochester (Mich.). The first serve is scheduled for 7 p.m. inside the Ebeid Rec Center.
