Lourdes began its final road trip of the season on Saturday evening, dropping a 25-11, 25-20, 25-12 decision to Siena Heights inside the SHU Fieldhouse in Adrian, Mich.
The Saints started fast in the opening set, scoring the first four points, and put down 15 kills in the stanza to take the early lead in the match. Set two saw seven ties but the Gray Wolves were unable to get over the hump late to pull out a win. The Saints then rushed out to a 7-1 lead in the third on the way to completing the sweep.
Madison Smith (Woodburn, Ind./Woodlan H.S.) and
Rachel Allison (Perrysburg, Ohio/Notre Dame Academy) each had four kills to lead the Lourdes offense while
Maddie White (Ottawa, Ohio/Ottawa-Glandorf H.S.) picked up a team-high 11 digs.
Kinsey Wagner led Siena Heights (21-7, 13-5 WHAC) with eight kills while Payton Osborne had a match-high 16 digs.
Lourdes (3-21, 3-16) will close out the 2023 season on Wednesday evening as the Gray Wolves travel to Lima, Ohio to battle Northwestern Ohio. The first serve is set for 7 p.m. inside Racer Gymnasium.
