Lourdes began its three-match road trip on Wednesday afternoon, dropping a 2-0 decision to Madonna at the Madonna Soccer & Lacrosse Field in Livonia, Mich.
The Crusaders jumped in front with 14:40 left in the first half as Daniel Watkins sent a pass to the top of the penalty area where Ren Suzuki received the ball and fired it into the back of the net.
Madonna maintained its 1-0 lead into intermission, outshooting the Gray Wolves 6-4 over the first 45 minutes.
The hosts increased their lead with 26:21 to play in the match as Corey Matthews went one-on-one with Lourdes netminder
Alex Brock (Sylvania, Ohio/Southview H.S.) before scoring to make it a 2-0 contest.
Lourdes was unable to break through on the scoreboard on the afternoon as Madonna (7-3-1, 3-1 WHAC) goalkeeper Nathan Lamberti made just one save to earn the shutout.
The Crusaders finished the match with a 13-8 shot advantage, including a 5-1 edge on net.
Alex Hartl (Sigmarszell, Germany/Progenius Heidenheim) led Lourdes with four shots.
Lourdes (1-5-4, 1-2-1) remains on the road Saturday afternoon as the Gray Wolves travel to Washington Township, Mich. to face Rochester (Mich.). Kickoff is set for 2 p.m. at Michigan Stars Sports Center.
