Lourdes tallied bonus points in all nine matches in which the Gray Wolves contested on Thursday evening on the way to downing Siena Heights 45-6 inside the Russell J. Ebeid Recreation Center in the home and Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference opener.

Dock Kelly III said afterwards. "I have to give credit to Coach Piszker for having our guys prepared to compete. It showed in every individual bout. I really love the intensity and sense of urgency that we wrestled with tonight."

The Gray Wolves wasted little time jumping in front as
Nick Rodriguez (Toledo, Ohio/Clay H.S.) opened with a 21-5 tech fall. The NAIA's fifth-ranked wrestler registered six first period takedowns before ending the contest just 10 seconds into the second stanza.

Siena Heights (0-1, 0-1 WHAC) picked up its lone victory via forfeit at 133 pounds to give the Saints a brief 6-5 lead overall.

From there it was all Gray Wolves.Â
Cole McKinley (Sylvania, Ohio/Northview H.S.) led 11-2 in the opening period at 141 before registering a fall just 1:54 into the match, the first of three first period pins recorded by Lourdes grapplers on the night.Â

Cyle Wells (Springfield, Ohio/Tecumseh H.S.) and
Drew Torres (Phoenix, Ariz./Tempe Union H.S.) followed with back-to-back major decisions at 149 and 157 pounds respectively. Both led 9-2 after the opening period with Wells building a 16-4 lead after two on the way to a 21-7 triumph. Torres, ranked 24
th nationally, was in front 13-7 after five minutes before finishing with a 21-8 win.

Derick Coleman (Clyde, Ohio/Clyde H.S.) led just 6-1 after three minutes before opening up a 16-3 edge after two periods. He closed out his match just 20 seconds into the third with a 19-4 technical fall win at 165 pounds, pushing the team advantage to 24-6.

Niko Christo (Galion, Ohio/Northmor H.S.), making his season debut, used 3:55 of riding time in his 174-pound bout on the way to scoring a 17-5 major decision.Â
Will Speight (Bedford, Ohio/Bedford H.S.), ranked fourth at 184 pounds, needed just 1:40 to record seven takedowns on his way to a 21-6 tech fall win.

The Gray Wolves closed the match with back-to-back pins at 197 and 285 pounds.Â
Carter Kroll (Ontario, Ohio/Ontario H.S.), ranked 20
th in the country, needed just 1:55 for his first period fall while
Tyler Cobb (Toledo, Ohio/Clay H.S.) needed just six fewer seconds to register his.

Lourdes (1-0, 1-0) will return to the mat on Wednesday evening for another WHAC battle. The Gray Wolves will head to Rochester Hills, Mich. to face Rochester (Mich.) beginning at 6:30 p.m. inside Garth Pleasant Arena.
