Lourdes registered its sixth consecutive victory, and 12
th in its last 13 games, on Wednesday evening with an 81-76 victory over Lawrence Tech inside Ridler Fieldhouse in Southfield, Mich.

"Give LTU lots of credit, they played pretty well," head coach
Dennis Hopson said afterwards. "I thought we played well too, but we gave up too many offensive rebounds that led to second chance points. I'm proud of the guys thought because I think we're playing good basketball right now."

Joey Holifield (Toledo, Ohio/Cardinal Stritch H.S.) scored a game-high 28 points while
Little Anderson (Toledo, Ohio/Cardinal Stritch H.S.) added 24 more as the Gray Wolves shot 54.5% from the floor for the evening.Â
Jackie Harris (Toledo, Ohio/Saint Francis de Sales H.S.) gave Lourdes three double figures scorers with his 16 points.

The Gray Wolves never trailed in the contest, but needed to fend off a potential game-tying possession by the Blue Devils in the closing seconds.

Lourdes scored the game's first five points on the way to racing out to an 18-5 lead just over eight minutes into the contest. The lead was 14, 21-7, when Lawrence Tech scored six consecutive points to pull within eight. The Gray Wolves pushed the lead back to 14, 31-17, with five minutes to play in the half when the Blue Devils scored 12 of the next 14 points on the way to closing to within 35-31 at the break.

Lawrence Tech pulled to within two on the first possession of the second half before the Gray Wolves pushed the lead back to nine, 48-39, five minutes later. The Blue Devils battled back again, cutting the deficit to two, 59-57, midway through the stanza before a 12-2 spurt by Lourdes gave the visitors a 12-point lead with five minutes remaining.

The lead was still 11 with just over three minutes to play when the Blue Devils fought back to within three with less than 30 seconds left. Following a Lourdes turnover, Lawrence Tech had a chance to tie trailing 77-74, but
Clif Snow (Middletown, Ohio/Middletown H.S.) registered a steal and fed the ball ahead to Holifield for a lay-in to secure the victory.

Gunnar Gustafson led Lawrence Tech (13-14, 9-10 WHAC) with 17 points while Nathaniel Ward added 14 more.

Lourdes (21-6, 15-4) closes out the regular season on Saturday afternoon, traveling to Fort Wayne, Ind. to face sixth-ranked Indiana Tech. Tip-off is set for 3 p.m. inside the Schaefer Center.
