Lourdes saw its winning streak end at six on Saturday afternoon as sixth-ranked Indiana Tech downed the Gray Wolves 90-79 inside the Schaefer Center in Fort Wayne, Ind.

"They were tough," head coach
Dennis Hopson said afterwards. I have to tip my hat to Indiana Tech. They scored 52 points in the paint. We couldn't guard and didn't defend well. We need to get tougher on the defensive end."

Indiana Tech started fast, scoring the game's first eight points only to see the Gray Wolves respond with 11 of the next 13 to take an 11-10 advantage. The lead changed hands 10 times, and was tied five. Lourdes led 28-26 with under five minutes left in the stanza before the Warriors went on a 10-1 run to take the lead for good, carrying a 36-31 advantage into the locker room.

A free throw by
Joey Holifield (Toledo, Ohio/Cardinal Stritch H.S.) pulled the Gray Wolves to within four to start the second half but Indiana Tech responded with a 10-1 run to push the lead to double figures five minutes into the stanza. Lourdes fought back, cutting its deficit to six, 54-48, at the 10-minute mark but the Warriors pushed their lead back to 13 within the next four minutes. The Gray Wolves were never able to get within single digits down the stretch.

Little Anderson (Toledo, Ohio/Cardinal Stritch H.S.) led Lourdes with 22 points while
Jackie Harris (Toledo, Ohio/Saint Francis de Sales H.S.) added 19 more. Holifield had 15 points and
Stephen Coleman Jr. (Toledo, Ohio/Hillcrest Prep H.S.) chipped in 10 more off the bench. Lourdes shot 44.1% from the floor, including 8-of-17 (47.1%) from three-point range but connected at just a 64.7% (11-of-17) clip from the free throw line and committed 14 turnovers.

Josh Kline led Indiana Tech (25-3, 18-2 WHAC) with 21 points while Blake Davison added 17 more. The Warriors had five players finish in double figures and shot 54.8% from the field.

Lourdes (21-7, 15-5) finished the regular season in second place in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference, its highest finish in program history. The Gray Wolves will host a quarterfinal game in the WHAC tournament on Thursday evening. The league will announce official pairing later this weekend.
