Lourdes hung with Indiana Tech through halftime on Saturday afternoon but the 16
th-ranked Warriors pulled away in the second half to defeat the Gray Wolves 81-66 inside the Schaefer Center in Fort Wayne, Ind. in the regular season finale for both schools.

"We are really proud of how well the team did focusing on the game plan," head coach
Tandy Bradford said afterwards. "When you play a team with the talent of Indiana Tech you have to stay disciplined for four quarters and outwork them in every area. We didn't finish in a couple of areas we knew we had to in order to win. So we will go back to work and be ready on Wednesday for another battle."

Shae Pedroza (Napoleon, Ohio/Napoleon H.S.) scored a career-high 26 points for the Gray Wolves, including 20 in the first half. Her sister,
Emma Pedroza (Napoleon, Ohio/Napoleon H.S.) added a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds while
Halle Barnett (Sylvania, Ohio/Southview H.S.) chipped in 11 points as well on 5-of-7 shooting. For the game Lourdes shot 45.2% from the floor while committing just nine turnovers.

Trailing 20-14 with two minutes to play in the first half, Lourdes scored the stanza scoring the final seven points to take a one-point advantage into the second 10 minutes. The Gray Wolves never led by more than two points in the game, but maintained a two-point advantage, 30-28, following a Barnett lay-in with just over five minutes to play before halftime. With the game tied at 32, Indiana Tech scored the next four points to take the lead for good, but held just a 41-38 edge at the break.

Macie Stringfellow (Perrysburg, Ohio/Perrysburg H.S.) basket to open the third period pulled Lourdes to within one before six straight points began a 16-5 run for the Warriors, pushing the lead to 12. The Gray Wolves answered with six straight points, including a triple by
Nadeen Jemaa (Perrysburg, Ohio/Perrysburg H.S.) to pull within six with under four minutes to play in the third, only to see Indiana Tech respond with six straight of its own.

Lourdes scored the first basket of the fourth quarter to make it a 63-55 game, but Indiana Tech would tally the next eight points as part of a 12-2 run to push the lead to 18 with less than seven minutes to play. The Gray Wolves were unable to get closer than 13 the rest of the way.

Kyra Whitaker led Indiana Tech (24-4, 18-2 WHAC) with 29 points while Erika Foy added 16 points and 14 rebounds. Taylor Covington tallied 11 points and handed out eight assists as the Warriors shot 51.9% from the floor on the afternoon.

Lourdes (9-19, 6-14) will head to the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference tournament beginning on Wednesday. The league will announce official pairings later in the weekend.
