For the second time in less than 24 hours, and the fifth time this season Lourdes won a five-set match, defeating Cornerstone 21-25, 25-21, 23-25, 25-20, 15-11 inside Mol Arena in Grand Rapids, Mich.

"We showed a lot of grit today," head coach
Greg Reitz said afterwards. "We didn't always play our best, but when it came down to it, we made the plays we needed to."

Lourdes hit .256 for the match with
George Tsogtbaatar (Wheeling, Ill./Wheeling H.S.) handing out 59 assists to go along with his 13 digs defensively.Â
Eduardo Ayala (Curitiba, Brazil/Colegio Dom Bosco) put down 21 kills while hitting .347 and also picking up 22 digs.Â
Vinicius Lopes (Brusque, Brazil/Colegio Osvaldo Carvalho) also had a double-double with 13 kills and 14 digs.

Jaber Badarne (Arrabe, Israel/Hof Hasharon) put down 15 kills while
Sawyer Schafer (Monroeville, Ohio/Monroeville H.S.) picked up 19 digs.

Cornerstone jumped out to a 9-1 lead to start the match and held an 18-12 advantage on the way to taking the opening set. Set two had 10 ties before three straight points when tied at 19 put the Gray Wolves in front for good. The Golden Eagles led set three from start to finish before Lourdes battled back in the fourth to force the decisive set.  The Gray Wolves never trailed in the fith scoring three straight points when leading 9-8 to pull away.

David Galanes led Cornerstone (15-8, 7-7 WHAC) with 21 kills while Kyi Jagorin had 20 digs.

Lourdes (15-5, 12-1) remains on the road Friday evening as the Gray Wolves travel to Southfield, Mich. to face Lawrence Tech. The opening serve is set for 7 p.m. inside Ridler Fieldhouse.
