After winning the first three games of the season series against Siena Heights, Lourdes dropped Tuesday's contest to the Saints 10-0 at SHU Baseball Diamond in Adrian, Mich.
Â
"Siena Heights' pitcher was very good today," head coach
Josh Bradford said afterwards. "We couldn't get anything going. It was a very good game until the end when it got away from us. Caleb (Loboschefski), Brendan (Holland), and Levi (Hillard) threw very well through seven.  They gave us a chance. Trailing 3-0 into the eighth, I still felt as if we were going to win. Our offense has the ability to put up runs in bunches."
Â
Chase Molnar tossed the eight-inning shutout for Siena Heights (9-26, 6-17 WHAC), scattering eight hits while striking out six and walking just two.Â
Ryan Jagodzinski (Perrysburg, Ohio/Rossford H.S.) and
Steve Haugh (Waterville, Ohio/Anthony Wayne H.S.) had two hits each for Lourdes.
Â
The Saints scored a pair of runs in the opening inning and added a third in the third, but the score remained just 3-0 into the eighth. Siena Heights plated seven runs in the bottom of the inning to close out the game, scoring all the runs without an out being recorded.
Â
Lourdes (16-19, 12-10) concludes the road portion of its schedule on Wednesday afternoon as the Gray Wolves travel to Rockford, Mich. to face Aquinas. The first pitch in game one of the doubleheader is set for 2 p.m. at the Meijer Sports Complex.
