For the third time in the last four matches Lourdes played to a draw as the Gray Wolves battled Point Park to a 2-2 final on Wednesday evening at Montour Junction Sports Complex in Coraopolis, Pa.
Lourdes had to battle from behind as Genildo Postimo put the Pioneers in front with 21:20 to play before halftime. The Gray Wolves would respond just before halftime. Following a misplay by the Point Park goalkeeper,
Federico Reaili (Ceprano, Italy/Liceo Sulpicio) intercepted a clearing pass and lofted it over the head of Eduard Garcia for his first collegiate goal, knotting the score at one at halftime.
The Gray Wolves took the lead 7:16 into the second half as the beneficiary of an own goal. Point Park headed the ball back past the keeper into the net, giving Lourdes a 2-1 lead. The Pioneers would even the match with 21:48 to play as Postimo netted his second goal of the contest.
Point Park (3-2-1) outshot Lourdes 14-5 for the match, including 7-3 on frame, but
Alex Brock (Sylvania, Ohio/Southview H.S.) made four saves in net for the Gray Wolves in the stalemate.
Lourdes (0-2-3) continues its three-match road trip on Tuesday evening, closing out non-conference play with a trip to Upland, Ind. to battle Taylor. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. at Turner Stadium.
