Tenth-ranked Lourdes remained in a tie atop the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference standings on Saturday afternoon as the Gray Wolves defeated the University of Michigan-Dearborn 98-79 inside Russell J. Ebeid Recreation Center for the team's fifth straight victory.

"We need to play the game right every night," head coach
Dennis Hopson said afterwards. "I'm not happy with how selfish we played today. Give Michigan-Dearborn a lot of credit. Their guys came in and played hard."

Lourdes jumped out to a quick 7-0 lead less than 90 seconds into the contest. The Wolverines battled back to within three, 11-8, before a 17-4 run allowed the Gray Wolves to extend the lead to 16 midway through the stanza. Lourdes would lead by as many as 19 in the first half before taking a 44-27 lead into the locker room.

After Michigan-Dearborn scored the first basket in the second half, Lourdes went on a 16-2 run to push the lead to 29 just over four minutes into the period. The Gray Wolves cruised in the second half before a late 19-9 run over the last six minutes allowed the Wolverines to close to within 19 for the game's final margin.

Jackie Harris (Toledo, Ohio/St. Francis de Sales H.S.) registered a double-double with 20 points and 11 rebounds while
Shaunn Monroe (Charleston, W. Va./Fairborn [Ohio] H.S.) added 19 points on 8-of-10 shooting while handing out five assists.Â
Stephen Coleman Jr. (Toledo, Ohio/Hillcrest Prep H.S.) chipped in 16 points while
Joey Holifield (Toledo, Ohio/Cardinal Stritch H.S.) tallied 15 more points.Â

Lourdes shot 50.7% from the floor and outrebounded the Wolverines 44-26 for the game, including a 15-4 edge on the offensive glass. The Gray Wolves tallied 24 second chance points in the contest.

Yassin Mohamed and Andrew Leamy led Michigan-Dearborn with 19 points each as the Wolverines shot 47.4% from the floor, including 52% (13-of-25) from three-point range.

Lourdes (15-1, 11-1) hits the road on Wednesday evening as the Gray Wolves travel to Adrian, Mich. to face Siena Heights. Tip-off is set for 8 p.m. inside SHU Fieldhouse.
