LIVONIA, Mich. (LourdesAthletics.com) -- The Lourdes University women's volleyball team dropped a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference affair on the road at Madonna University Wednesday evening, Oct. 16. The team took a set off the host Crusadors in the 3-1 loss.
In the opening set, Lourdes grabbed an early advantage, outlasting the host Crusaders for a 25-23 victory. However, the Crusaders responded with a strong push, taking the next three sets to secure the match with scores of 25-16, 25-22, and 25-16.
Lindsey Pumford led Lourdes offensively with 10 kills, while the defense was anchored by junior Jolie Sobb, who recorded an impressive 26 digs. Kenady Cox was a key playmaker, tallying 33 assists along with two service aces.
The Gray Wolves' back row was strong throughout, as four players reached double digits in digs. Sobb was the standout with 26, followed by Rachel Allison, Emma Coffey, and Maddie White, who each contributed 13 digs to the effort. Despite the team's resilience, the Crusaders were able to take control and claim the victory.

The Gray Wolves will return to action Friday, Oct. 18, as the team is scheduled to travel to the University of Michigan-Dearborn for a 7 pm meeting in Dearborn, Mich.
