DEARBORN, Mich. (LourdesAthletics.com) -- The Lourdes University women's volleyball team dropped a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference affair on the road at the University of Michigan-Dearborn Friday evening, Oct. 18. The team reached five sets, but ultimately dropped the match, 3-2, to the Wolverines.
Lourdes took the opening set 25-22 in a closely contested match, but Michigan-Dearborn responded with a dominant 25-16 win in the second set. Lourdes bounced back to win the third set 25-23, but Michigan-Dearborn regained control, claiming victories in the fourth and fifth sets, 25-20 and 15-12, to secure the match.
Juniors Katey Stakolich and Jolie Sobb led Lourdes offensively with 13 kills each, while the defense was anchored by Sobb, who recorded an impressive 32 digs. Rookie setter, Rania Pavlidi was a key play-maker, tallying 29 assists.
The Gray Wolves' back row was strong throughout, as three players reached double digits in digs. Sobb was the standout with 32, followed by senior Alex Pak's 26 and Arleena Willer's 14.

The Gray Wolves will return to action Friday, Oct. 25, as the team is scheduled to host Cornerstone University at 7 pm, in a match that has been donned this seasons' "Dig Pink" match.
