SYLVANIA, Ohio (LourdesAthletics.com) -- The Lourdes University women's volleyball team fell in three straight sets to the visiting Yellowjackets of Defiance College Wednesday night in a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference affair inside the Rusell J. Ebeid Recreation Center.
In the first set, Lourdes rallied to get the score as close as 21-20 but couldn't finish, allowing the Yellowjackets to take the set 25-21.
The second stanza was similar, with Lourdes again pulling close late but ultimately falling short with another 25-21 set score.
In the third set, Defiance established an early lead, and despite a late push from the Gray Wolves, they closed out the match with a 25-20 set score.
The Gray Wolves were led by redshirt junior
Rachel Allison's 10 kills on 23 swings which included only three errors for a team-leading .304 hitting percentage. The 10 kills matched the junior's career high which she also posted against the University of Northwestern Ohio, Sept. 25.
Leading in assists was junior
Kenady Cox with 18, while senior
Katey Stakolich posted the only other double-digit helpers with her 10.
