ADRIAN, Mich. (LourdesAthletics.com) -- The Lourdes University men's wrestling team kicked off its Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) dual season with an impressive 41-15 victory over Siena Heights University on Thursday night.
Leading the charge for the Gray Wolves was Nick Rodriguez, who secured a dominant technical fall over Nolan McDowell at 133 pounds, winning 22-6 in just 1:58. At 141 pounds, Cole McKinley also made a strong statement with a fall over Maurice Ames in 2:55.
The Gray Wolves continued to pile on the points with a series of falls across several weight classes. Derick Coleman (165 pounds) pinned Christopher Sorrow in 4:53, and Dominico Migliori (174 pounds) earned a quick fall in 1:37 over Alex Drewek. Will Speight (184 pounds) followed suit, pinning Caiden Nichols in just 1:10, and Carter Kroll (197 pounds) capped off the streak with a fall in 2:20 over Brandon Rau.
Roman Cordoba (125 pounds) and Ty Cobb (285 pounds) also represented Lourdes with solid efforts. Cordoba earned a forfeit win, while Cobb battled hard but was defeated by decision, 9-2.
