SYLVANIA, Ohio (LourdesAthletics.com) – The Lourdes University women's basketball team put on an impressive performance Saturday afternoon, defeating the visiting Golden Bears of West Virginia University Tech, 90-63, at the Russell J. Ebeid Recreation Center. The Gray Wolves remain undefeated at home this season, improving to 3-0 on their home court.
Lourdes set the tone early, using efficient shooting and a dominant rebounding effort to gain control of the game. The Gray Wolves built a double-digit lead by halftime and never looked back, outscoring WVU Tech in every quarter. With five players reaching double figures for the first time this season, led by Emma Pedroza's 21 points.
Emma Pedroza led the way for Lourdes, scoring a game-high 21 points on 8-of-16 shooting, including 4-of-6 from beyond the arc. She also added three rebounds and two assists to her performance.
Nadeen Jemaa followed with 14 points, connecting on 4-of-9 three-point attempts, and dished out a game-high seven assists. Tamyah Worthy contributed 12 points on 5-of-9 shooting, while matching the team-high with eight rebounds. Macie Stringfellow added 11 points, eight rebounds, and four assists, and Grace Ryan chipped in 11 points, going 5-of-6 from the free-throw line.
As a team, Lourdes shot 48.6% (35-72) from the field and 39.1% (9-23) from three-point range while holding a 41-32 advantage on the boards.Â
