Gray Wolves Open Season with Dominant Homecoming Victory Over Adrian; 77-58

Emma Pedroza poured in 20 points, while Nadeen Jemma connected on five three's

SYLVANIA, Ohio (LourdesAthletics.com) – The Lourdes University women's basketball team tipped off their 2024-25 season with a solid 77-58 victory over Adrian College at home during Homecoming weekend at the Russell J. Ebeid Recreation Center.

Lourdes trailed 32-28 at halftime but rallied in the second half to take control of the game. The team shot 46.8% from the field, making 29 of their 62 attempts. From beyond the arc, Lourdes connected on 7 of 22 attempts (31.8%) and converted 12 of 20 shots (60%) from the free-throw line.

Leading the scoring effort with a 20-point performance, senior Emma Pedroza connected on seven shots from the field, going 2-of-4 from beyond the arc and perfect from the line at 4-for-4. Additionally, Pedroza forced five turnovers and assisted on five buckets.

Joining Pedroza in the three-point contributions was graduate student Nadeen Jemaa, who made five shots from beyond the arc to score 15 points, along with four steals and two assists.

Junior Grace Ryan made a significant impact, leading the rebounding effort with seven boards while shooting 6-of-7 to contribute 14 points to the scoring output.

Match Notes:

  • The home-opening victory marked the 10th in program history and the seventh consecutive win in home openers.
  • The Gray Wolves now hold a 1-0 overall record, marking the eighth time in program history that the team has opened the season with a victory.
  • Head Coach Tandy Bradford (31-56 overall, 19-43 WHAC) is now 4-0 in home-opening games following the win over the Bulldogs.
  • Emma Pedroza recorded her fourth 20-point performance, with her career-high being 22 in her rookie season. This game also marked just her second outing with five assists.
  • Nadeen Jemaa's five three-pointers made was her third game with five or more triples, with her personal best being seven.
