Box Score SAINT MARY-OF-THE-WOODS, Ind. (LourdesAthletics.com) – The Lourdes University Gray Wolves women's basketball team dropped a 75-64 decision to the Pomeroys of Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College on the road Wednesday, Nov. 6.
The game was a close contest early on, with Saint Mary-of-the-Woods holding a slim 17-16 lead after the first quarter. The Pomeroys extended their advantage in the second quarter, outscoring Lourdes 22-12 to take a 39-28 lead into halftime.
In the third quarter, both teams matched each other with 18 points apiece, keeping the Pomeroys in control with a 57-46 lead heading into the final period. Despite a strong effort in the fourth, Lourdes couldn't close the gap, as Saint Mary-of-the-Woods sealed the 75-64 victory.
Macie Stringfellow led the Gray Wolves with 12 points, shooting 5-for-13 from the field and 1-for-3 from beyond the arc. She also contributed six rebounds, four assists, and two steals. Emma Pedroza also posted 12 points, going 5-for-18 from the field and knocking down two three-pointers. Pedroza led the team with seven rebounds on the night.
As a team, Lourdes shot 26-for-66 (39.4%) from the field, 5-for-18 (27.8%) from three-point range, and 7-for-11 (63.6%) from the free-throw line. The Gray Wolves grabbed 32 rebounds, dished out 12 assists, recorded one block by Oliwia Djya, and tallied seven steals.

The Gray Wolves are scheduled to travel to Wilberforce next for a road doubleheader with the men's team Saturday, Nov. 9. The women will take the court at 2 pm with the men following behind at 4 pm.
