Women's Basketball Drop WHAC Contest at Rochester Christian

The Gray Wolves fall short despite strong efforts in the road matchup.

ROCHESTER HILLS, Mich. (LourdesAthletics.com) -- The Lourdes University women's basketball team fell short in a tightly contested Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference matchup, dropping a 78-74 decision to Rochester Christian University at Garth Pleasant Arena on Tuesday evening.

Emma Pedroza led Lourdes with 17 points, 9 rebounds, and 9 assists against Rochester Christian, just shy of a triple-double. This performance came after her 23-point outing in the win over Defiance, showing her importance as a key player for the Gray Wolves.

Tamyah Worthy tied Pedroza with 17 points, recording her best scoring effort of the season. She also added four rebounds and went 5-of-9 from the free-throw line, playing a strong role in the paint.

Macie Stringfellow contributed 12 points and 5 rebounds, following her double-double performance against Defiance. Nadeen Jemaa added 12 points with two three-pointers, continuing to be a consistent threat from the perimeter. Grace Ryan chipped in 10 points and grabbed 6 rebounds, showing her all-around game.

Despite trailing 24-22 after the first quarter and 39-35 at halftime, the Gray Wolves (6-2, 2-1 WHAC) stayed competitive, outscoring Rochester Christian 21-19 in the third quarter. However, the Warriors held off Lourdes' late rally to secure the 78-74 win.
