Continuing its three-game road trip, 13
th-ranked Lourdes suffered an 82-77 setback on Wednesday evening to Lawrence Tech inside Ridler Fieldhouse in Southfield, Mich.

"They are a good team with an all-star guard in Beavers," head coach
Dennis Hopson said afterwards. "Give them a lot of credit. They are playing good basketball right now. We need to try to get better to finish the best way possible.

Jackie Harris (Toledo, Ohio/St. Francis de Sales H.S.) drained five three-pointers and scored a team-high 27 points while
Joey Holifield (Toledo, Ohio/Cardinal Stritch H.S.) added 21 points.Â
Shaunn Monroe (Charleston, W. Va./Fairborn [Ohio] H.S.) chipped in 15 points.

An early 13-4 run by the Gray Wolves gave Lourdes a 19-14 advantage midway through the first half, only to see the Blue Devils respond with a 10-2 run of their own to take the lead, something the hosts would not relinquish the rest of the way. Lawrence Tech took a 31-25 lead into halftime.

The Blue Devils extended their lead to 10, 56-46, just over eight minutes into the second half. A 9-0 run by Lourdes closed the deficit to one, 65-64, at the 5:45 mark but the Gray Wolves were unable to tie the game up. Lourdes was still within three, 71-68, at the two-minute mark but Lawrence Tech drained a triple and held on for the win down the stretch.

"We took some bad shots down the stretch and didn't rebound when we needed to," Hopson added.

Lourdes committed just seven turnovers and shot 47.7% from the floor but the Blue Devils connected at a 51.9% clip and drained 13 three-pointers on the night.

Brandon Beavers led Lawrence Tech (17-8, 13-6 WHAC) with 32 points and nine rebounds.

Lourdes (19-4, 15-4) closes out its road trip on Saturday afternoon with at trip to Fort Wayne, Ind. to battle Indiana Tech. Tip-off is set for 3 p.m. inside the Schaefer Center.
