Lourdes began its spring trip on Monday afternoon, dropping both ends of a doubleheader against Indiana-Kokomo 11-8 and 12-10 in eight innings at Kokomo Memorial Stadium in Kokomo, Ind.

The Gray Wolves jumped in front in game one with three runs in the top of the second inning.Â
Jase Kennedy (Oregon, Ohio/Clay H.S.) and
Christian Mays (Oregon, Ohio/Clay H.S.) both had RBI singles while
Joel Suraganan (Pickerington, Ont./Dunbarton H.S.) delivered a sacrifice fly.

The Cougars plated two runs in the fourth before Lourdes responded in the top of the fifth with two runs of its own. Kennedy had a run-scoring double while
Nick DiGennaro (Oakville, Ont./St. Ignatius of Loyola H.S.) had a run-scoring hit to give the Gray Wolves a 5-2 lead.

Indiana-Kokomo sent 10 batters to the plate in the bottom of the fifth, scoring six times before adding three more in the sixth. DiGennaro hit a three-run home run in the seventh to close out the scoring.

Kennedy and DiGennaro both had three-hit games for Lourdes in the opener as the Gray Wolves banged out 14 hits.

In game two, Lourdes again took an early lead, scoring a run on a wild pitch and another on a bases loaded walk to Kennedy in the opening inning. Indiana-Kokomo (11-11) tied the game with a pair of runs of its own in the bottom of the frame.

The Gray Wolves retook the lead with five runs in the fourth, again taking the lead on a wild pitch. Â
Alex Dupree (Sylvania, Ohio/Northview H.S.) added a two-run double while
Caleb Edwards-Dugan (Lima, Ohio/Lima Senior H.S.) had a RBI ground out.Â
Cord Noble's (Rockford, Mich./Rockford H.S.) run-scoring single made it 7-2 Lourdes as the Gray Wolves batted around in the inning.

Mays gave Lourdes a six-run lead in the top of the fifth with a single. After the Cougars plated a run in the bottom of the fifth, Kennedy delivered his second RBI of the game with a double.

The Cougars battled back, scoring four times in the sixth before tying the game in the bottom of the seventh with two more runs, both with two outs, to force extra innings.

Nick Zito (Saint Petersburg, Fla./Sports Leadership and Management Academy) put Lourdes in front with a squeeze bunt before Indiana-Kokomo tied the game in the bottom of the inning before walking the game off with a home run.

Dupree scored four times in the nightcap, drawing three walks.

Lourdes (0-4) will head to Indianapolis, Ind. on Tuesday to face Marian. First pitch is set for 1 p.m. at MU Ballpark.
