Lourdes began its final home weekend of the regular season on Friday evening, dropping a 25-16, 28-26, 22-25, 25-20 decision to Lawrence Tech inside the Russell J. Ebeid Recreation Center.
 
The 13^th-ranked Gray Wolves led 11-10 in the opening set when Lawrence Tech closed the stanza on a 15-5 run, hitting .406 in the frame to take the early lead in the match.  Set two had 13 ties and six lead changes, with the Gray Wolves rallying from 23-20 down to even the set at 24.  Lourdes fought off three set points and had one of its own before the Blue Devils scored the final three points to build a 2-0 lead in the contest.
 
Lourdes took control of set three early, building a 15-10 advantage, and fought off a late Blue Devil rally to extend the match.  Set four was all Lawrence Tech though, racing out to a 14-7 lead.  The Gray Wolves fought back to pull even at 16, only for the Blue Devils to score the next three points to regain control on the way to closing out the match.
 
Eduardo Ayala (Curitiba, Brazil/Colegio Dom Bosco) led all players with 22 kills for Lourdes while Vinicius Lopes (Brusque, Brazil/Colegio Osvaldo Carvalho) added a double-double with 10 kills and 14 digs.  Brayden Moyars (McCordsville, Ind./Cathedral H.S.) picked up a team-high 17 digs.  Joey Bianco (Cincinnati, Ohio/Elder H.S.) dished out 38 assists as the Gray Wolves hit .209 as a team.
 
Gustavo Machado led Lawrence Tech (10-12, 5-9 WHAC) with 18 kills while Brendon Down added 16 kills.  Mario Cid hit .440 with 12 kills and picked up 11 digs while Matheus Andrade had a match-high 21 digs.  Nathaniel Brownlee ran the Blue Devils offense that hit .312, dishing out 49 assists.
 
Lourdes (14-8, 14-1) will close out the home portion of the regular season schedule on Saturday evening as the Gray Wolves host Siena Heights.  The opening serve is set for 7:30 p.m. inside the Ebeid Rec Center with Senior Night activities taking place prior to the match.
