FORT WAYNE, Ind. (LourdesAthletics.com) – Junior Jannik Hofmann and junior Bruno Duarte each netted second-half goals as the Lourdes University's men's soccer team dropped a 4-2 decision to the University of Saint Francis Wednesday, Sept. 11 at Bishop D'Arcy Stadium.
Hofmann's 81st-minute goal was his first of the season while Duarte's strike just 1:19 later marked his third goal of the season as Hofmann tallied his first career assist on the play.
Senior Ibrahim Akl and senior Bruvan Ramaswamy also had a pair of shots on goal to lead the Gray Wolves' offensive attack.
Saint Francis needed just 20 seconds to get on the scoreboard before adding a second goal in the 40th minute.
The Cougars pushed the lead to 3-0 with a goal in the 77th minute before adding its fourth and final goal of the contest at the 78:23 mark.
Each team tallied 13 shots while Saint Francis held a 4-2 edge in corner kicks.
Senior goalkeeper Yianni Kanellopoulos made his second start of the season, matching his career high with three saves.
