Bruno Duarte's 25-Yard Strike Secures Men's Soccer's 1-0 Win Over Cleary

The men are on a three-game win streak and undefeated in conference play

SYLVANIA, Ohio (LourdesAthletics.com) -- Junior transfer, Bruno Duarte led the Lourdes University men's soccer team to its third consecutive victory with a strike from 25 yards out to secure the 1-nil win over Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference member, Cleary University to improve the Gray Wolves league record to an impressive 2-0.

Duarte's game-winning blast, which was assisted off the boot of senior Martin Coronelcame in the second half following a scoreless first 45 minutes of play.

The senior found the transfer far out, who then forced in a powerful strike from 25-yards out, taking the title for the furthest made goal by the Gray Wolves, this season.

In goal, senior Alex Brock played all 90 minutes, facing seven shots, three of which were on frame and saved.

  • The men's team is on a three-game win streak for the first time since the 2023 campaign when the Gray Wolves won four straight from Oct. 18-Oct. 28. Additionally, it marked the sixth of nine competing seasons that the Lourdes men's team has won three games in a row at any point of the season.
