DEARBORN, Mich. (LourdesAthletics.com) --Â The Lourdes University women's basketball team defeated the University of Michigan-Dearborn 95-50 on Wednesday evening at The Fieldhouse, earning their 13th win of the season to set a new program record for single-season victories. The win eclipses the previous high of 12 wins set during the 2023-24 season.
The Gray Wolves (13-6, 8-4 WHAC) now sit just two conference wins away from tying last year's WHAC mark of 10 victories, also the most in program history. Additionally, the 95-point performance marked the most points scored by the team in a game since November 6, 2021, when they posted 132 points against Miami-Middletown.
Lourdes established control early, jumping out to a commanding 31-10 lead in the first quarter, fueled by 72% shooting from the floor. The Gray Wolves maintained their intensity throughout, outscoring UM-Dearborn (3-16, 1-11 WHAC) in every quarter and holding the Wolverines to just nine points in the final frame.
Emma Pedroza led all scorers with 20 points, connecting on 8-of-11 shots, including 3-of-4 from beyond the arc. Macie Stringfellow contributed 17 points and seven rebounds, while Oliwia Dyja added 14 points off the bench on a perfect 6-for-7 shooting performance. Lourdes dominated inside, tallying 56 points in the paint and finishing with 45 rebounds, including 11 on the offensive glass.
With the WHAC tournament approaching, the Gray Wolves remain in a strong position to contend for a top spot in the standings while continuing to rewrite the program's record book.
