Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 SYLVANIA, Ohio (LourdesAthletics.com) -- The Lourdes University men's volleyball team earned their first victory of the season in commanding fashion, defeating the University of Jamestown 3-1 (25-19, 17-25, 25-22, 25-18) to cap off day two of the Gray Wolf Invitational. Earlier in the day, the Gray Wolves fell in three hard-fought sets (23-25, 22-25, 21-25) to Campbellsville University.

The Gray Wolves started strong offensively, hitting .241 in the opening set, but struggled to maintain that efficiency as the match progressed, finishing with a .117 team hitting percentage. Lourdes tallied 31 kills compared to Campbellsville's 38, while the Tigers' ability to out-block the Gray Wolves 7-5 played a crucial role in the outcome.

Vinicius Lopez led the Lourdes attack with 13 kills while hitting .276 for the match. Felipe Tramontin added seven kills and chipped in seven digs to tie Lopez for the team lead in that category. Setter Daniel Nascimento directed the offense with 21 assists, while Joey Bianco contributed five kills, four assists, and a team-high two service aces.

Defensively, Jaber Badarne led the effort at the net with three blocks, while Trace Bauersfeld and Ben Palma added two blocks apiece. Brayden Moyars contributed six digs in the back row.

The Gray Wolves battled point-for-point in all three sets but were unable to capitalize on key opportunities late.

Against Jamestown, the Gray Wolves showcased resilience and efficiency, particularly in the fourth set, where they hit an impressive .333 to secure the match. Lourdes posted 39 kills in the contest, led by Vinicius Lopez, who paced the offense with 13 kills while completing a double-double with 10 digs. Jaber Badarne contributed eight kills, and Felipe Tramontin added seven as the Gray Wolves displayed balance at the net.

The setting duo of Daniel Nascimento and Evaristo Lopez Valeros shared playmaking duties effectively, dishing out 16 assists apiece to keep the offense in rhythm. Defensively, Brayden Moyars anchored the back row with a match-high 16 digs, while Lopez chipped in 10. At the net, Mitch Hoffman was a force, tallying four blocks, while Badarne and Trace Bauersfeld added three each to stifle the Jamestown attack.

Lourdes also excelled from the service line, recording five aces, including two each from Moyars and Hoffman, which helped maintain momentum in key moments. The Gray Wolves opened the match with an explosive first set, hitting .500 as a team, and closed strong with a dominant performance in the fourth to seal their first win of the season.
