SYLVANIA, Ohio (LourdesAthletics.com) -- The Lourdes University men's basketball team delivered an impressive offensive performance on December 30th, defeating Lambton College 110-63 at home. With this win, the Gray Wolves improved to 11-4 overall and 5-2 in conference play.
From the start, Lourdes took control of the game with a 54-point first half, showcasing their offensive depth and shooting efficiency. Senior guard Shaunn Monroe was the standout performer, scoring a game-high 40 points on 18-of-28 shooting, including 4-of-10 from beyond the arc. Monroe's 40-point effort marked one of the team's best individual performances of the season and was a testament to his offensive versatility and scoring ability.
Derek Fairley contributed significantly, adding 26 points on 8-of-13 shooting, including 7-of-11 from three-point range. Fairley's performance was key in helping the Gray Wolves extend their lead, as they shot an impressive 51.8% from the field and 36.8% from three-point range for the game.
Lourdes also dominated defensively, forcing Lambton into 20 turnovers, which led to 44 points off turnovers. The Gray Wolves held a commanding lead in the second half, finishing with their largest lead of 56 points at the 5:20 mark.
Devyn Jones chipped in with 11 points, while Kendall Perkins added 6 points and 1 rebound in 14 minutes of play. Bench players, including Adonus Abrams (7 points) and Magd Abdelwahab (6 points), also contributed, helping the team's second unit to a combined 25 points.
The team's fast break efficiency (14 points) and points in the paint (38 points) were also key components of their balanced attack. With a 110-63 final score, the Gray Wolves continue to build momentum and assert themselves as a strong contender in the conference.
