MARSHALL, Mo. (LourdesAthletics.com) -- The Lourdes University men's wrestling team took on a highly competitive field at the Missouri Valley Invitational, finishing 36th out of 50 teams with 22.5 total points. The Gray Wolves battled through a strong lineup of NAIA programs, with several wrestlers earning individual victories throughout the tournament.
Ty Cobb (285 lbs.) and Carter Kroll (197 lbs.) led the way for Lourdes, each scoring 5.5 team points. Cobb won four matches, including two by decision, one by major decision, and one by fall, while Kroll secured a pin and a major decision victory.
Cole McKinley (141 lbs.) added six team points with two first-period pins to start his tournament run. Dru Wilson (141 lbs.) also contributed 4.5 points, highlighted by a pin in his opening match and a major decision win in the consolation bracket.
Ayden Wilson (174 lbs.) picked up a decision win, while Isaac Green (133 lbs.) and Luke Thornton (157 lbs.) both competed but were unable to advance past the early rounds.
