SYLVANIA, Ohio (LourdesAthletics.com) – The Lourdes University's men's wrestling team battled Rochester Christian University on Friday night inside the Russell J. Ebeid Recreation Center, ultimately falling 36-17 to the visitors.
The Gray Wolves claimed three individual victories on the night, highlighted by a dominant technical fall from William Speight at 184 pounds. Speight overwhelmed David VanDaele, securing a 21-6 victory in just 2:47.
Cole McKinley earned Lourdes' first contested victory of the evening at 141 pounds, pinning Hunter Thomson in 4:06. Heavyweight Ty Cobb also added points for Lourdes, winning by forfeit at 285 pounds.
Despite the efforts of the Gray Wolves, Rochester Christian built an early lead and maintained control throughout the meet. Isaac Green (133), Dru Wilson (149), Luke Thornton (157), and Ayden Wilson (174) each competed in hard-fought matches but came up short.
