SYLVANIA, Ohio (LourdesAthletics.com) -- The Lourdes University women's basketball team showcased an impressive all-around performance, defeating Cornerstone University 82-62 at the Russell J. Ebeid Recreation Center. The win improved Lourdes to 10-5 overall and 5-3 in WHAC play, while Cornerstone earned it's first league loss, falling to 7-8 and 6-1 in the conference.
Grace Ryan led the Gray Wolves with 19 points and seven rebounds, shooting 53% from the field. Emma Pedroza contributed 16 points and a game-high seven assists, while Macie Stringfellow recorded a double-double with 16 points and 13 rebounds. Tamyah Worthy added 14 points and five boards, with Nadeen Jemaa chipping in nine points and three assists.
Lourdes set the tone early, opening with a 20-11 first-quarter advantage and extending the lead to 18 by halftime. The Gray Wolves dominated in the paint, outscoring Cornerstone 48-26, and capitalized on fast breaks with 10 points in transition. Lourdes also converted 19 points off turnovers, maintaining their largest lead of 23 late in the third quarter.
