ROCHESTER HILLS, Mich. – Lourdes University volleyball battled throughout but dropped a three-set decision at Rochester (25-13, 25-19, 25-18) on Friday evening in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference action inside Garth Pleasant Arena.
Sophomore
Aleya Baptiste (Toledo, Ohio / Notre Dame Academy) led the Gray Wolves with nine kills, hitting .300 and adding four digs and a service ace. Senior
Jolie Sobb (Oregon, Ohio / Clay HS) finished with eight kills and a team-high 10 digs, while senior
Rachel Allison (Toledo, Ohio / Central Catholic HS) contributed four kills and a block assist.
Freshman
Teliya Cole (Toledo, Ohio / Whitmer HS) added three kills, a block assist, and two digs, while sophomore
Mia Karl (Sylvania, Ohio / Southview HS) chipped in a kill and two block assists. Setters
Zoe Schuele (Ottawa Lake, Mich. / Whiteford HS) and
Rania Pavlidi (Athens, Greece / 1st Lykeio Geraka) combined for 19 assists, with Schuele recording 11 and Pavlidi adding eight. Senior
Emma Coffey (Mason, Ohio / Bishop Fenwick HS) anchored the back row with 10 digs, and
Johanna Tester (LaPorte, Ind. / LaPorte HS) contributed four digs and two block assists.
As a team, Lourdes tallied 25 kills, 41 digs, and 3.0 team blocks, hitting .091 for the match. Rochester (9-6, 3-2 WHAC) was led by Kendal Zeiter's 11 kills and .429 hitting percentage.
The loss drops Lourdes to 4-6 overall and 0-4 in WHAC play.
